Technology Advisory Group (TAG)

The BCIU hosts network meetings five times a year for Berks County's school districts' technology coordinators to share information and discuss hot topics in an open forum. The director of the BCIU's Office of Information Technology facilitates the meetings.

Topics typically discussed during these meetings include the latest information on new and emerging technologies, state mandates and initiatives, BCIU-provided technology services, and methods of using technology to support instruction and assessment.

Although most of the meetings are held at the BCIU's River's Chase facility, districts are encouraged to serve as host sites so that members may see each other's facilities. Members occasionally take a field trip to a business, industry, or other site of technological interest.

The BCIU's IT staff:

Schedules meetings
Develops agendas
Communicates to district coordinators
Secures presenters or field trip sites (as necessary)
Facilitates discussion.
