Gifted Network

Teachers of the gifted meet on a quarterly basis to learn the latest requirements from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the latest in research and information on gifted education. Sample topics addressed during meetings include:

  • Chapter 16 and writing legally defensible GIEP's
  • Screening and identification procedures
  • Meeting the needs of gifted students within the regular education classroom

In addition, ample time is allowed for job-alike sharing sessions where teachers can share best-practice instructional strategies with their colleagues. All Berks County teachers of the gifted are invited to attend.
