MUSIC IN THE SCHOOLS

In cooperation with the Reading Musical Foundation, the Berks County Intermediate Unit coordinates Music in the Schools for elementary-aged students and various jazz assemblies for middle/junior high school students. Professional musicians visit the schools to provide 45-minute concerts to acquaint the students with classical or jazz music.

In addition, the Berks County Intermediate Unit coordinates Youth Concerts presented at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center for K-12 students. The Reading Musical Foundation, the Reading Symphony Orchestra League, the Board of Directors of the Reading Symphony Orchestra, and the PA Council of the Arts provide funding for the concerts.
