SCHOOL SAFETY TRAINING

Injury and illness are common for the school-age population, and expanding enrollments of students with disabilities increase the possibility of medical emergencies within schools.

Schools have responsibility for the safety and well-being of all students and personnel during the hours of attendance or at school-sponsored activities while students and personnel are on school property.

The BCIU offers training for school personnel, as well as community organizations and individuals, in:

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
  • Fire safety
  • First aid
  • Pediatric first aid
  • Back safety
  • Blood-borne pathogens
  • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) right-to-know

We can hold the training at your facility or ours during the day, the evening, or on the weekend.

The BCIU also schedules sessions regularly throughout the year that are held at the BCIU's main building on Commons Boulevard in Reading. Individuals may register for them at My Learning Plan.
