Douglas Fisher, Ph.D.
is professor of language and literacy education in the Department of Teacher Education at San Diego State University and a teacher leader at Health Sciences High and Middle College.
He is the recipient of an International Reading Association Celebrate Literacy Award, the Farmer award for excellence in writing from the National Council of Teachers of English, as well as a Christa McAuliffe award for excellence in teacher education.

Giselle Martin-Kniep
is the president of Learner-Centered Initiatives and the founder of Communities for Learning: Leading Lasting Change®, two different organizations that promote sustained school improvement.
Giselle has a strong background in organizational change and has graduate degrees in communication and development, social sciences in education, and educational evaluation from Stanford University.
She has worked with thousands of schools nationally and internationally in the areas of standards, curriculum and assessment, adult learning, school improvement, and action research. Among her many publications is her new book with Joanne Picone-Zocchia, Changing the Way You Teach, Improving the Way Students Learn. |

Will Richardson
has been writing about the intersection of social online learning networks and education for the past 10 years at Weblogg-ed.com and in numerous journals and magazines, such as Ed Leadership, Education Week, and English Journal.
He served as a public school educator for 22 years. He is a co-founder of Powerful Learning Practice (plpnetwork.com), a unique professional development program that has mentored more than 3,000 teachers worldwide in the last three years.
In May 2011, he will publish his second book, Personal Learning Networks: Using the Power of Connections to Transform Education. |
